No, it’s way too early for swimming pool fun! But pool as in billiards! A group of 23 members traveled to the Corner Pocket in Green Cove Springs on Tuesday, February 25, for pool instructions and lunch. The Corner Pocket, owned by Women’s Club member Cheryl Starnes, is well-known for its pool/billiards leagues and great food. Cheryl arranged for two APA instructors to provide a few lessons and pointers to the members, including sizing up and holding the cue stick, different type of “bridges” that can be used, proper aiming techniques and different types of games to play. Some of our members were natural pool players, but may be not quite ready to go on tour.
After play, members gathered for lunch in the dining area for further fellowship and bragging rights.
