I hope all of you got to read the February MPWC article in The Magnolia News. In rereading the article, I found that one important point was missing related to the Club’s beginning. March 2001 marks the time when 5 Magnolia Point resident women got together to discuss what it would take to form a club. In looking for the exact date that our Club began, I checked old minutes and archived newsletters; however, the exact start-up date remained unclear. I contacted Barbara Syzmanski, a founding member, and together we were able to establish September 2001 as the official date of MPWC’s first official meeting with 60 dues paying members. This means that MPWC will celebrate its 25th anniversary as a Club in September 2026, with 18 of those years as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit professional organization.
