Among Friends Book Club, one of several book clubs in Magnolia Point, meets the second Monday of each month. This month, the book selection was Kristin Hannah’s “The Women”, about the nurses who served in the Vietnam War. It was an excellent read and generated a great discussion among friends. Each member growing up was touched in some way or another about the war, married to a veteran, had a sibling who served, or other ways. This book focused on the forgotten heroes – the women who served behind the scenes.
Roz Arnold, the hostess for August, chose the book and hosted the gathering at her home. The group also welcomed new member Barbara Shinn.
