On Friday, January 17th, some of MPWC’s members took to the road – destination, the Tea Room and Gift Shop in Keystone Heights. Those who arrived ‘hatless’ were offered a selection from an array of fancy chapeaux provided by the tea house proprietor. A look around the tea room itself was an experience unto itself. It displayed an unusual display of eclectic decorations that brought smiles and delight to this social. The tables showcased a variety of delicate tea settings and services.
The proprietor began by telling a story of her own journey and the history of the tea shop. Following that, members sampled an assortment of about 40 delectable teas. Lunch served included a salad plus an array of small tasty sandwiches, fruits, and desserts. Following lunch, the ladies shopped in the Tea Room’s gift shop.
Participating in a British-inspired “High Tea” is an eye-opening experience if you have never attended one. Thank you to Cindy Triay and her committee for including this social option in their efforts.
