The Red Hot Hatties, a Red Hat group of Women’s Club members, met at Whitey’s Fish Camp in Fleming Island for their monthly luncheon. After lunch, they took in the art exhibit on display at the Thrasher Horn Center for the Arts, located on the campus of St. Johns River State College. The art exhibit features works done by members of the Art Guild of Orange Park and the First Coast Plein Air Painters.
Betty McKee, an Art Guild member, joined the group and gave an informative tour of the displayed art. Betty’s painting, “Copper Kettle with Peaches”, won Best in Show for Orange Park. The picture below depicts Betty’s award winning artwork, with Betty (white jacket) sitting underneath in the center surrounded by the Hatties.
The artwork will be displayed during box office hours at Thrasher Horn, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through June 30. Admission to view the art is free.
