Not only does the Women’s Club support the underserved of Clay Country through its charitable contributions and educational incentives, we have wonderful members who also donate on their own.
On Saturday, November 9, the Club held a Holiday Arts & Craft Fair at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Several of its members were also vendors. One member-vendor, Helen DiGuardia, makes beautiful quilts and other stitched crafts. She and others – Women’s Club members Kim Belcher and Karla Petraglia, as well as Magnolia Point resident Kathy Minton-McKinney – assist each other in the quilt-making process. One does the hand-piecing, another might do the binding and another the actual quilting of the top.
Helen has donated over 100 quilts to the Green Cove Springs Police Department and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for their use in responding to calls, and the feature picture shows 20 quilts she recently donated.
The Club has such talented women who are also very generous and giving.
