Last Monday, December 8, Among Friends Book Club held their Christmas luncheon at Cooper’s Hawk for the second year in a row. Among Friends has been together for many years and several members are original to the group, which has been led by Jeanne Gorman since its inception. The ladies take turns hosting each month, with the hostess-of-the-month choosing the book. Members like this format because they are introduced to a wide genre of books they might not select for their own reading. The group has also found that the books that aren’t liked very much always generate the most discussion and comments.
Attendees at the lunch were Denise Beauchamp, Sue Tucker, Marsha Zupan, leader Jeanne Gorman, Marlene Jacobs, Sandy Waldrup, Susie Snow and Joanne LaBeouf. Missing were Roz Arnold, Shirley Orvosh and Barbara Shinn.
