And We Are Finished! Luminaria Kits for 2025 Are Assembled!

On October 6, Women’s Club members gathered at the home of Luminaria Chair Nancy Mills to assemble luminaria kits for the upcoming 2025 luminaria fundraiser. I have been involved with this program for many years, and was chair for three years, but this group of volunteer ladies rocked today! I think records have been broken! Starting time was 9:00 a.m., and by 11:00 a.m., every single candle, bag and votive cup was assembled into bags of 10 each luminaria kits. A total of 1,440 kits were assembled; doing the math, 14,400 individual items were handled! And as always, a second assembly date was scheduled but it won’t be needed!

Thank you very much to Nancy.  She had her home very organized for the assembly activities prior to the group meeting, and the process couldn’t have been any smoother. The ladies had a fun time socializing with each other all while doing important work.  A special thanks goes to Donna Habing, who took all the great photos but wasn’t in a single one!   That’s the woe of being a photographer.

The annual luminaria event will be held this year on Saturday, December 13. Not only do these ladies assemble kits, many volunteer as block captains to deliver the brochure and order form to residents on their assigned street. Sales start on November 9, so be sure to look for more information.
